Q: I am a software engineer working in oracle platform. I am interested to go abroad especially in Middle East, how I should approach for Middle East, is their any option for me?
A-You have not mentioned your experience in oracle, whether you are working as a Oracle programmer if you have more than 18 month sound experience in this field then you have lot of opportunities in the Middle East. There are some newspapers like Employment & NRI times, Times of India that gives you regular vacancies in the Middle East. You can also go through our web site every day where you can get latest requirements in the Middle East, you can also submit you resume on the jobsites available on net.

Q. I am B.E. Mechanical, 3rd yr. student. I want to enter to software industry through campus selection. What I feel companies prefer either electronics /computer science students. I got chance in written test which I cleared, Even I cleared Group discussion. But finally In the interview I wasn't selected. I have frustrations due to this. Please advise me what I should do in today's date?
A: Software field is vast. First you decide in which field you want to enter. You can divide it-

  1. CAD/CAM -ECommerce/WEB Related
  2. Application Programming -System Programming
  3. Database Programming -Functional Areas

If want to use your Engineering skill in the software field then you can prefer CAD/CAM. If you are interested in the internet application/web related application which is hot in the market today ,You can opt for Html, Dhtml, Java, Asp, Javascript . To go to application programming you should learn VB, PB, D2K..If You are interested in System programming ,you should learn C, C++, Java. To go to database programming side, you should have the knowledge of Oracle, Foxpro. If you are interested in the functional areas ,you should go for ERP course like SAP, People Soft, JD Edwards.. You have to decide which field you have to go. Take Job related vacancies in some leading newspaper like Employment & NRI Times, Times of India, Indian Express. You can find out job details & current requirement of the companies.
